Re: Gap between clip-path and image content

The result in V6 was a little better. Not much, but noticable in direct comparison. The edges were not semi-transparent, but closer to the image. More of the white pixels around the image from the original background were removed. I think thats the way the simple "-alpha transparent -clip -alpha opa...

Re: Gap between clip-path and image content

I did some more research on this and got some more information. After reading some other posts I think that the resulting PNG has only 1-bit transparency although 8-bit transparency should be possible (see https://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?t=24176). But first off all some im...

Gap between clip-path and image content

Hi! We are about to switch from ImageMagick 6.9 to 7.0 in our application and so I have done some testing and found a problem in the clipping operation. Usually we take a TIF image with a path and convert it into a PNG with the background removed using the following command: convert image.tif -alpha...

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

Perfect! All images are looking correct now :-)

Where these images converted with the 32bit or 64bit version of ImageMagick? Are there still differences between the 32bit and 64bit version of ImageMagick?

Is the release date for the new version already known?

Thank you very much for your support!

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

Thank you very much for the explanation!

Any idea when this issue will be fixed? Is there anything I can do to help?

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

I've added two more screenshots to the dropbox above. On this image there is not only the "bulb" on the right side of the blade but on the left side the transparency is also not as close to the blade as the path is.

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

Hi! I don't have a PSD file, only a TIF or JPEG with a path. I have uploaded two screenshots from Photoshop: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rbn8vvp20n5i7m5/AADhcxc33gMpQ4dQAFp6ggFoa?dl=0 On the screenshots you see two images opened in PS. On the left side the PNG created with ImageMagick with a small er...

Not sure what you mean. Create a transparent PNG with Photoshop?

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

I found some more images on which even the 32bit release does not work perfect:

Maybe they can help tracking the issue.

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

The spoon has a minor error at rightmost edge of the handle. But everything else looks pretty good :-)

PS: The pan is a so called "Multi roaster" from the "ZWILLING® Plus" series (http://www.zwilling.com/en/cookware-ser ... tml?page=2)

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

The problem seems to occour only in the 64bit release. With the 32bit release for Windows both images are converted correctly.

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

Hi! I did a little more testing and under Linux with the same release 6.8.9-7 Q16 the problem does NOT occour on the images mentioned in the last post. But on other images it does occour under Linux as well: This image has the same problem with convert on Windows and on Linux: https://cloud.netgroup...

Re: Path distorted when creating transparent PNG

Sorry I have to bring up this thread again. But the clipping path ist still handled incorrectly on some images when creating a PNG with transparency. Here is an example image: https://cloud.netgroup.de/public.php?service=files&t=4a0b56e7cfed01d9323c757769e4b007 This is the command I used: convert 02...
