Re: Ellipse cropping from GIMP parameters

What version on IM, on what platform? From x,y,w,h you can calculate x0,y0,rx,ry for an ellipse. In IM v7, you can do this in fx expressions within the draw. For example (Windows BAT syntax): magick ^ in.png ^ -draw "ellipse %%[fx:%XX%+%WW%/2-0.5],%%[fx:%YY%+%HH%/2-0.5] %%[fx:%WW%/2-0.5],%%[fx:%HH%/...

Re: convert bgra to png complains of no file, but file exists

What is in your screenshot.bgra? You suggest it has 800x480 pixels, with 4 channels, 1 byte/channel/pixel. So that would be 1536000 bytes. But your file is much larger at 25 MB. EDIT: This works without complaint: magick -size 4096x1536 -depth 8 screenshot.bgra x.png The result looks bad because I p...

Re: Converting RAW CR2 to 32bit EXR, 16bit TIFF, and 8bit JPEG

Your zip is too large for me to download today. Maybe at the weekend. Different versions of IM use different delegates to demosaic raw files, and don't expose the controls from those delegates, eg white balance controls. I always use dcraw directly to create a TIFF, then do other processing with IM....

Re: antalias

On "-page", see http://www.imagemagick.org/script/command-line-options.php#page . "-page Letter" is a synonym for "-page 612x792". If your density is 600 dpi then this isn't much bigger than one square inch. I'm not sure what you want. Can you supply sample images? Perhaps "montage" doesn't do what ...

Re: Converting HEIC images with Display P3 color profile

In theory, this should work when the input image is sRGB with or without an embedded profile:

Code: Select all

magick in.png -profile sRGB.icc P3D5.icc out.heic
But I have no way of testing this.

Re: Composite: Person & checkerboard pattern

I suppose you want these operations to apply to each separate image before compositing them together. "... grows in size from left to right" sounds like a simple perspective projection. See http://www.imagemagick.org/script/command-line-options.php#distort "...apply a wave form" see http://www.image...

Re: antalias

"-antialias" and "+antialias" are settings that affect certain operations. You are not using any of those operations, so "-antialias" and "+antialias" will have no effect.

Re: Create stack of identical images with transparent overlap

Why don't you show the command you used? You need to make the white background transparent. But the background isn't exactly white. magick orig1skdd.jpg -fill White -fuzz 10% -draw "color 0,0 floodfill" -fuzz 0 -transparent White t.png Then t.png can be composited over itself. You can do the whole j...

Re: Unable to trim borders of a scanned document

The order is wrong. You need to read the image before you can input it. "-fuzz" modifies "-trim", so should come before it, not afterwards. The image is noisy. This works:

Code: Select all

convert invoice.png -despeckle -despeckle -fuzz 90% -trim +repage out.png

Use the prefix "TIFF64:" on the output.

It has been renamed to "-rotational-blur".

@Fred: This new option is not documented in http://www.imagemagick.org/www/script/c ... adial-blur . Can you fix this, please?

Re: transparency changes in IM 7

Please show your inputs, not just the outputs.

I never use "composite" for anything. I use "convert" for v6 or "magick" for v7, with the "-composite" operation. This needs the two inputs in the opposite order.

Re: Using alpha of programmatically generated image for clipping mask of RGBA background color label?

A simplified version so we don't need to do "label:" and "-splice" etc twice: magick ^ -background "#3399FF" -fill "#F26322" -font "Segoe-UI-Semibold" -pointsize "15" label:"Text String" ^ -gravity southeast -splice 6x4 ^ -gravity northwest -splice 6x2 ^ ^( +clone ^ -fill White -colorize 100 ^ -draw...

Re: transparency changes in IM 7

See the v7 porting guide: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/porting.php Reading gray-scale images generate an image with only one channel. If that image is to then accept color the -colorspace setting needs to be applied to expand the one channel into separate RGB (or other) channels. So, insert "-c...

Re: Using alpha of programmatically generated image for clipping mask of RGBA background color label?

I suggest you split long commands into logical lines. This makes them easier to build, understand, and debug. For example: %IMG7%magick ^ -background "#3399FF" -fill "#F26322" -font "Segoe-UI-Semibold" -pointsize "15" label:"Text String" ^ -gravity southeast -splice 6x4 ^ -gravity northwest -splice ...
